I don’t think I will ever forget the horror of losing my mare so suddenly and unexpectedly the day after she’d foaled. The emotions were two-fold…grief over having lost such a kind and wonderful mare, and concern over what lay ahead for her day old colt, and fear as to whether I’d be able to provide him with the care he needed.
After consulting with a variety of local breeders about milk replacer options, the one that came up repeatedly with glowing reviews was Grober’s. Upon contacting a Grober’s rep by phone (I truly wish I could remember her name) I was immediately struck by how concerned they were about making sure I could get what I needed as quickly as possible, and also by the amount of time that was spent describing the product and making sure I was comfortable with how to feed it. I was one small-scale breeder with one orphan foal, and I felt like I was the most important customer of the day. The Foal-Gro was sent out via courier the same day, and delivered to the farm the next. My orphan stayed on Foal-Gro until the time came to switch him over to a regular foal feed. The quality of service and support from Grober’s until that time never changed.

My orphan, Trivalli DF (known around the barn as Sherman) thrived on Foal-Gro, and now at 3 years of age has been started under saddle and looks to have a wonderful future with his new owner ahead of him.
